She roams the night alone, with a crown of stars...

After working on a few big paintings, I felt like doing something simple and mindless, without worrying about colour and tone. I've always enjoyed working in Black and White. :)
Hope you enjoy.

Absolutely stunning! I love the emotion that comes through in this piece, intentional or not - it's wonderful! *eyes the server* Can they do prints in this section? 0.o

Excellent - that's absolutely gorgeous; I adore detailed black and white artwork. The flowing hair is wonderful, as is the detail and texure of the cloth; great folds in it - looks very convincing! Definitely a +fav. :)

Those dramatically curved Renaissance features paired with the art nouveau of black and white makes this one of the most beautiful traditional artworks I have seen in a long time. You have immeasurable talent!

The description at the top is a little sad *sniff* reminds me a little of a thing I wrote: [link] (now that was subtle wasn't it? ^^).
Anyway...it's nice to see you try a different technique, lovely classical feel, with the contrast of the bright red lips and ink lines of the rest of the piece. How did you get the effect with the stars? So much emotion, feeling and depth crammed into one piece. Another fav...
Simple and mindless? Gawd, you people make me sick!

Ahh, lovely lucid descriptions there. :) I'll have to have a read of that story once I get the time...
Thanks a lot for your kind words and the fave!
The stars I just dotted on in white gouache after I painted the background black.

Finally managed to find the time to comment (somewat haphazardly) on your new works. And as ever, this is wonderful. I like how it looks slightly different to what we're used to from you -- the black and white is interestingly done, very precise and adroit. You say you weren't interested in colour or tone in this one, but I think you've managed to achieve it all the same, even without many differing hues -- the keenness of starlight is really wonderful, with such grace and power melded into one. And, like always, that gorgeously feminine art noveau style is evident in you work in a way that I simply always fall in love with.

Sorry for poor spelling, grammar etc.
